Ridiculous blusterings of Al Gore and his sycophants
As if to back up the many, many recent reports of the onset of global
cooling from distinguished scientists around the world, Brazil, whose
northern border touches the Equator and lies in the Southern Hemisphere
where seasons are opposite of ours in the Northern Hemisphere, meaning that
when we have warm temperature months the lower half of the earth is
experiencing cold weather. Equatorial countries rarely ever have weather
cold enough to produce sleet and snow.
So Brazil experiencing these latter weather-produced phenomena is an almost
positive sign that the ridiculous blusterings of Al Gore and his sycophants
calling for measures to stop global warming are fallacious and unfounded in
fact.
Here are the cold facts (pun intended) as reported by Newsmax.com;
9/14/2008, 10:00 a.m.; Snow and Near-Freezing Temperatures - in Brazil
"Amid the continuing clamor over the threat of global warming, southern
Brazil saw a rare weather event on Sept. 5 - one of the coldest September
days ever witnessed in that part of the country. Afternoon temperatures
below about 40 degrees are rare in Brazil>s coldest months, from June to
August. But temperatures dropped to 35.5 degrees in several cities after
midday in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul. And what began in the
morning as granular snow and sleet quickly became moderate to heavy snow in
the afternoon, according to the MetSulWeather Center in Brazil.
"More than a dozen cities reported sleet or snow, and the snow accumulated
in several of them. 'People could not believe the scenes of cars covered by
ice and the fields whitened just three days after the region experienced a
warm spell that brought highs of over 86 degrees,' MetSul reported. "Snow
mixed with rain was also observed in northern Uruguay.
"A MetSul meteorologist noted that colder winters and major snow events in
the region 'may be the result of ongoing cooling trends observed on the
planet this decade.'
I have been following the many views on this subject of global cooling
versus global warming and one of the scientific researchers reporting on the
global cooling period our planet is experiencing is Steven Milloy, "Junk
Science" author and publisher, on "The Great Global Warming Race" May 01,
2008 who reports, 'IPCC researchers project no global warming over the next
decade because of Mother Nature.
'Researchers belonging to the UN IPCC reported in Nature on May 1 that,
after adjusting their climate model to reflect actual sea surface
temperatures of the last 50 years, global surface temperature may not
increase over the next decade, as natural climate variations. temporarily
offset the projected anthropogenic warming.
'Although the result seems stunning in that it came from IPCC scientists who
have always been in the tank for manmade global warming, it>s not really
surprising since the notion of manmade climate change has never lived up to
its billing.'
Milloy explains that a major reason for so many scientists going along with
the hype and bluster of the global warming fairy tale is that our government
"has been doling out more than $5 billion annually for research into climate
change and alternative energy." And where just a short number of years ago
only a handful of climatologists existed in the world, today there are
hordes of them along with scientists and related fields individuals all
competing for those big dollars the U. S. puts into the gravy train of
energy research.
Bursting the bubble of the imaginary global warming scenario would put many
thousands of "on-the-government-dole" fantasy seekers out of work. So
naturally, those that have become dependent on those big dollar incomes are
the first to prolong the warming notion even in the face of global cooling
evidence.
Several months ago the country>s latest darling of politics, Governor Sarah
Palin of Alaska interceded in the great debate by challenging the US
Interior Department>s ruling that Alaskan polar bears were being threatened
by global warming and put those animals on a "threatened species" list which
Governor Palin says could endanger oil and gas development in and around the
polar bear habitat, insisting there was not enough evidence to support such
a listing and saying the polar bear population had increased dramatically
over the past 30 years as a result of well-managed conservation.
Kassie Siegel of the Center for Biological Diversity, located NOT in Alaska
but in Arizona stated, ''She>s either grossly misinformed or intentionally
misleading, and both are unbecoming,''
In my opinion, I think Ms. Siegel had better get off her Arizona hot-seat
and start reading more reports from scientists NOT dependent on U. S.
government dollars to see just who is misleading whom. My money is on the
Governor. I>ll take her in a head to head factual debate, rifle shooting
match or in an arm wrestling contest. Sarah Palin is a winner all the way
around.
I think she would show Kassie just whose words are unbecoming.
