Hello,

Im designing an air traffic management system for predator UAVs
refuelling form a C130 hercules sized tanker.

I want to simulate/calculate the downwash and trailing vortices behind
the tanker so that I can define a route around the back of the tanker
that the UAV can take and not be rolled by the vortices to such a
degree that the predators ailerons cannot keep its own wings level.

I have simulated the Hercules' wing in Tornado for Matlab (), but this
software does not simulate the swirling vortices from wingtips. If
there was a general rule of thumb for working out the strength and
size of vortices with distance downstream, that would be really useful
because my project is o control air traffic, not make aerodynamic
simulations.

Any advise is heartfully appreciated

Adam
