The barrel temperature of the moulding machine seem to be out of
control as the temperature kept rising . I had changed a new contactor
but the problem remains. Then I changed the themocouple and the
electronic temperature controller as well but the problem still was
not solved.
I could not figure out what went wrong as this had never happen
before.
Dear members can you give me some advice. Thank you.

What are you running and what is the setpoint temperature? Is this a
reactive system which could be creating the exotherm?

Check for reversed thermocouples or plugs. |

The material used is PC . I had replace a new set of controller ,T.C ,
contactor and also check that all electrical connection was properly
done, The contactor should be in a cut off posistion when the barrel
temp. has reach the set- temp. but it does not.
But yesterday the problem solved without any reason. I still don>t
know why ? |

Contactor....maybe a sticky coil, or a loose connection that caused
higher then normal current draw (but not enough to blow a fuse). Best
to go with proportional band instrumentation these days.
Can>t say I can recall the last time I have used on/off temperature
control, for this as well as many other reasons. |
