What if you had only one word to sum up the Sun? That word has to be
GAS Compressed gas at its core. Radioactive zone where photons are
absorbed and emitted taking 200,000 years to get to the surface.
Convection zone where the gas is cooling. Finally the Sun surface the
photosphere this shell of gas is 250 miles deep It is where sunspots
appear Its gas takes on the look of granules. Best to keep in mind all
this gas of the Sun gives the solar system 99% of its mass Bert |

They are?
First of all, they>re not all classified as gases. The miscellaneous
elements include lithium, beryllium, and boron. These are not
"classified as gases" at standard temperature and pressure (STP). Also,
hydrogen and helium have been liquified ... also not at STP.
However, the sun is not at STP.
So do be careful about making broad generalizations. It may make people
think you know less than you do.

Gas "dissipates" if there aren>t other forces preventing it, like a
bottle or gravity.
