We had a 25hp 1993 Evinrude, beautiful motor,
quiet, ultra good mileage, lots of power on 14'
Al boat.

Having owned one, I>m sure you can imagine the difficulty of[/quote]
keeping the nose of a boogie board down with that motor
bolted to it! Fortunately it was an old junker we got
running just to try this half baked idea. Could only get
about two rides each day though (when you fall off, it sinks
then have to pull it up on shore and dry it out). Did this
in the shallow portion of the York river in Seaford,VA.

You are correct! The only "safety device" we had was a
wooden peg fit into a hole in the boogie board near the
motor and was attached to a stretched piece of surgical
rubber tubing. A very thin string was attached to the
rider>s ankle and to the peg. Another string was tied
between the spark plug wire and the peg. Rider falls off,
peg pulls out, rubber tube contracts pulling the spark plug
wire off! I know now that there are better ways, but hey, we
were young and foolish then and wanted to impress the girls
one afternoon! We actually built this thing in about two
hours and then proceeded to give said girls the best laugh
of the season!

Where? Many are two wire sets. The three wire powered sets are DC at
the tip from the base.
So where do the AC powered, two wire sets get grounded... safely? |
