In this work, Einstein uses the flowfield u0=A*x, v0=B*y, c0=C*z. Why
this particular flowfield?

It>s the simplest flowfield that meets the requirements for his derivation.
Due to the setup in the paper, he characterizes the entire flowfield as a
superposition of a parallel displacement, a bulk rotation, and a dilatation.
The first two don>t have any impact on the phenomenon he>s looking at, so it
looks like he picked the simplest flowfield that would have non-zero
dilatation on all three axis.

Since he>s working with an incompressible liquid, I think this may be the
only flowfield that satisfies the fluid dynamics equations under his
assumptions.
