We don>t know where we can get UV SENSITZERS for polyvinyl
alcohol/polyvinyl acetate. Does anyone know where can get these
sensitizers particularly in small quantities? |

Apparently not.

Well in the US, Chem Service of West Chester PA is good for small quantities at
reasonable prices. Get their catalog. I don>t think they are on the Web.
Last time I checked they had a pageful of UV stabilizers and oxidation
inhibitors for polymers. Don>t know about sensitizers.
Also, Aldrich, Sigma, TCI, Lancaster, Alfa have huge catalogs and often sell
small quantities (1-10g) at a decent price.
If you find a company that makes and sells the chemicals, you might sweet-talk
your way into some free samples. |

From the subject line:
"Shelf-life" suggests "stabilizers".
"Photopolymerisation" suggests "sensitizers".
I don>t see how the twain can ever meet. Wouldn>t
seem possible for a sensitizer in low concentration
to be converted to a stabilizer after the rxn
is over. Then again, I>m not a polymer chemist :-)
Mark (Why is it "photopolymeri_s_ation", but "stabili_z_ers"?) |
