Good to see the police actually taking the threat of Leftist violence
and law-breaking seriously in Victoria, after so many police have been
hurt:

VICTORIA Police>s secret intelligence unit has infiltrated Melbourne>s
activist and community groups for two years to gather information on
protests against the Iraq War, Japanese whaling and a weapons
exhibition.

Mind you, the very next words of this report in The Age are:

Reigniting civil liberties concerns ...

Actually, my concerns are for the poor officer called upon to make
terrible, even humiliating, sacrifices in infiltrating the groups:

The officer, who posed as a vegan, left-wing activist....

But even while trying as hard as he could to pose as an idiot, he was
still clearly the smartest guy in the room:

So successful was his operation that the organising committee for this
year>s Palm Sunday peace march in Melbourne appointed him its
minute-taker at meetings.!!!!
