First of all, I never heard that Eloh was the name, but rather El. Now
I think the reason why there is a "h" or "hey" in there, is because if
you take the plural of "El" you get Elim. Which clearly means many
gods. If you said "Elanu" it would imply our many gods, rather than
our god. And so it is written as "Elohanu" instead. Now when it says
Elohanu or Elohim it does not mean many Els, but uses the plural as it
is used in the royal "we." God says "we" rather than "I" in the royal
sense rather than implying more than one. So, Elohenu means "our God"
not our gods. But that does not mean the the singular is Eloh or
Allah. So I don>t agree with the "Jews for Allah" analysis. Christians
have inferred that "Elohim" is evidence of the Trinity concept, but
we don>t agree with that interpretation either. The us of the royal
"we" by the queen of England doesn>t prove that there are multiple
queens in Britain.
