Their are 600 milesof H2 pipelines in the US, and 900 miles in europe
(Northern France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany).

Their are enough pipelines in this part of Europe to call it an
hydrogen networks. All are interconnected.

But they deliver H2 for industry, their capacity is not enormous.

Because of its now density, H2 would need much bigger pipe-lines than
natural gas for a given equivalent power (i mean : the thermal power
one would get burning all the coming gas).

These specialty pipllines are all refinery related, delivering on-demand
hydrogen whose value GREATLY EXCEEDS its meager energy content.

Their design and construction is extremely specialized, as is their use.

There is NOT ONE hydrogen pipeline anywhere of significant length that
is delivering bulk hydrogen intended for raw energy use. The reason is
that the energy density of such a pipeline would not be remotely cost
effective.

Ordinary pipelines cannot handle hydrogen because of its pathetic energy
density, embrittlement, and diffusion.

I looked at this file.

Here is the statement by Don Lancaster that seems to have started this
brew-ha-ha:
Note that US hydrogen is ALWAYS liquified if it is to be transported
more than a hundred miles.
The PDF referenced above shows a H2 pipeline from Corpus Christi, Texas to
Three Rivers, Texas. Mapquest show the driving distance between these two
towns to be 73 miles.

There is also a shorter one outside of Houston.

So this PDF supports Don>s statement about US hydrogen.

My reference was specifically for road transport.
There is ZERO hydrogen pipeline use for bulk energy apps.

Gaseous tube trailers are normally only used for short distances.
Strongly suggesting that compressed gaseous hydrogen is useless for
personal transport.

And a brew ha ha is simply a mixture of beer and nitrous oxide.
