Hello
I>m having a blonde moment, can anyone help?

If I have calculated a settling velocity via Stokes Law and know that
the ocean current is a particular velocity, how do I calculate the
horizontal distance the particles have travelled?

I know this must be obvious, but I>ve been looking at it too long!

A simple approach would be based on vector addition. Some details are on
page 50 of the pdf file downloadable (110k) at:
http://www.midlandit.co.uk/chapter5.pdf

which is about sedimentation and settling basins.
