Some new study conducted by the American Psychological Association (APA)
claims that being spanked during childhood leads to "sexual problems"
later in life, including a preference for sadomasochistic sex.
Now I want to know why sadomasochism is considered a sexual problem while
homosexuality and transexuality are not. I>m not arguing that they are
sexual problems, but the fact is that the same APA had previously defined
homosexuals and transexuals as abnormal and practitioners were diagnosed
as mentally ill and subjected to shock treatment to cure them of their
perverted tendencies. Now those same exact sexual preferences are defined
as "normal" by the same exact American Psychological Association, but S&M
is still naughty and requires $500/hour psychotherapy (or shock treatment)
to cure. Interestingly, it is those people who object to the APA>s previous
mental disorder of homosexuality who are now diagnosed as mentally defective
and subjected to $500/hour psychotherapy to treat their tolerance disorder.
Perhaps if more psychologists were into S&M, B&D, DV/DA, and watersports
then those activities would be defined as mentally hygienic and there
would be a huge social crusade to promote awareness and tolerance of it
in schools and the workplace.
