First of all... thanks in advance and sorry for the cross-posting.

Can somebody give me a good/easy reference on how this is acomplished
(academic question)?

I have a non-newtonian fluid (possibly power-law/shear thinning)... I can
use a parallel plates rotational rheometer to measure it>s viscosity at
different shear rates (simple shear flow). Now, this same fluid is going tru
a gap/channel (one could consider it as pressure-driven poiseuille flow
between two parallel plates) and I can measure the pressure drop and thus
it>s aparent viscosity.

Since the second case is non-uniform shear how one goes in comparing the
viscosities between this two measurements? Do this makes sense at all? Any
ideas would be greatly appreciated... I>m desperate (and on a serious
deadline).
