The sequence of the amino acids leads to the specific folding of the protein.
If that is so
and
Both high heat and/or pH can denature or unfold proteins
Then
It would suggest that at first the informational sequence of the amino acids
that lead to the most thermally stable fold would be selected in a heat cycle.
Those that lead to thermally unstable folding patterns would be destroyed in
the heat cycle.
Thus the aa conformation or the aa information that was selected would lead to
that which folds to the shape that survives unfolding, denaturing.
So at this point sequence of aa>s that lead to thermally stable folds are the
only aa sequences that will survive the environment.
That suggests that protein sequence is based on thermal stability at this
point. (Later if two variants both have thermal stability then the one most
advantageous in other ways, would be selected)
And the same case could be made for nucleotide structure. That coding that best
supports thermal stability will survive that day. The rest will be destroyed or
denatured. Thus the nucleotide coding is that which leads to thermal stability
at this stage.
