It looks like the old charter which we have been operating under for the
last couple of decades.

There really isn>t anything new or needing change, other than the
newsgroup rec.pets.birds.pigeons has been added, for the pigeon fans,
not that they are unwelcome here.

He is just reposting it for the people that don>t google.

Tina,

You are definitely new to this group. I am the guy that started this
USENET group nearly ten years ago. I was also one of the first people
to post to this newsgroup. The newsgroup charter rules are reposted
from time to time by me for the information of the group. I have been
just copying it each time and this is the first time anybody has
noticed the word "NEW". I guess after all this time I should probably
delete it.

I haven>t been actively monitoring this group because I have been busy
with DOM_BIRD and other things. DOM_BIRD is a highly respected
poultry email discussion group that was here long before S.A.P. It is
semi-moderated so it is a very friendly atmoshpere. It is currently
located on Yahoo Groups (Originally eGroups) and previously on PLEARN.
I did not start DOM_BIRD, but I am the current owner.

If the reponses to my regular repost here of the charter rules brings
this kind of response, then I guess I have been away too long. Like
it or not, this group is here because of me. I do not "OWN" this
newsgroup, it was my gift to the Internet poultry community. The
rules are very simple and basic. They are not new. They are from day
one. Most people don>t have a problem with them. I suggest you read
them, perhaps you won>t have a problem with them either. If you do,
then maybe ALT.AGRICULTURE.POULTRY would be more to your liking if it
still exists.

If you are interested in history, you might be interested to learn
that this group has a sister newsgroup called SCI.AGRICULTURE.RATITES.
If you are old enough, you will remember that 10 years ago, the "beef"
of the future was in ratites. At the time, there wasn>t enough
interest to get either newsgroup off the ground. That is when we
joined forces and got both groups started. I don>t know if S.A.R. is
still active. I don>t think there are that many people raising them
anymore.
