Exxon Mobil is airing lots of TV ads about their R3M.
Short for: Remote Reservoir Resistivity Mapping.

What is so new and/or revolutionary about R3M?[/quote]
Con, Hype or Holy Grail for new oil discoveries?

It is a slightly different approach to a few year old
technology I think?
It is a copy of a method used in water, but used
on land instead.
Marine Controlled-Source Electromagnetic surveying.

I would give it more of the hype classification..
It is just another technology that can do basically
what it says.
The problem is doing such everywhere that makes it hard
to do.
It sure is not a Star Trek tricorder.
And New discoveries are a waste anyways since all the enviro freaks
won>t let us drill anywhere new anyways.

Look at the response to this thus far... AHAHAHA...
Besides you not a single one of all these perennial
web lice and net fleas here has shown any interest
about the product that they moan and whine about
at the gas pump. -- Yet when it comes to space-time,
orbits, octonions and younger twins that do not affect
them in any way... they can argue for days, and years..
with rubber-rulers and malfunctions clocks... ahaha..
Thanks for the laughs, James.... ahahahanson,

Well it works without the need of any scifi rubber rulers or
malfunctioning clocks so they probably could not understand
it.
