I>ve visited this newsgroup occasionally over the past few years as I keep
hens myself, and have found many of the letters and replies interesting. Now
I would like to have a couple of pigs but there does not seem to be a
similar newsgroup available. I would like to know if anyone reading also
keeps pigs, and could give me a little advice on how to start off.

Regards

Anne Lacey

May I recommend the book
"Raising pig successfully" by Kathy and Bob Kellogg

We have had pigs for quite a few years on our farm but I was not really
happy with the results until I started using the principals in this book a
few years ago. Also subscribing to pastured pigs group on Yahoo groups is
of great help.

Forgot to add. I am also in the UK so I will know what is relevant as far
as law, holding number, movement licence etc.

I also keep pigs. We get three each year and then show the best two in the
local fair in the summer. Pigs are great.
