Philadelphia police have arrested a suspect in the brutal murder of a
West Philadelphia man. The arrest came after police released a video
of the suspect using the victim>s credit card, an hour after the crime
(see previous story).
Capt. James Clark says public response to the video played a key role
in the arrest:
"We got, as a result of the news media coming out, a lot of tips. I
won>t be specific, but we got a lot of tips, a lot of help from the
community, and that>s what brought this case in."
Clark says 19-year-old Billy Langley was taken into custody on
Thursday evening, in the 6100 block of Yocum Street, where he was
hiding out. He>s been charged with the murder of 38-year-old Cory
Moody. Moody was bludgeoned to death with a brick last Friday
afternoon.
