Does anyone have any experience with dimming cold cathode lighting? I have
a customer>s site that has a butt load (about 400+) 20A dimmers driving many
many feet of cold cathode lights. I believe they are all magnetic
ballasts/psu>s.

- How well do they like/dislike being dimmed?
- How much power will actually be saved by dimming them? I assume they
behave similar to fluorescents in that the lumens/watt drops off rapidly
when they are dimmed.
- How does dimming them effect lamp life?
- Does it matter that the dimmers have chokes?

I am assuming that they should be treated like a fluorescent load; dimmed
from 100% down to some minimum level, and then cut off.

Thanks
Bruce
