Do I need to provide a grit source for my hens if they have an outdoor
pen and a dirt floor coop or will they get enough from the dirt?

Always provide it. Just buy small bags.
Never assume that a relatively small area of one place will have enough of
the right types of grit.
A small containner - like a half size seed tray, skewered into the ground -
preferably one for oystershell and one for flint grit, but you can do one
only with mixed grit in it if you empty it and refill every 4 -6 weeks.
If they do not take it that is fine, but most birds will, wherever they
live.
Few soils are really good providers of all that they need.
