Dear Newsgroup:
I have a lot written about power struggle and influence of a few in
academic instructions and in some degree explained my point of view
about their operations.
You may wonder how their mechanism of influence is channeled in the
academia.
One way of concentration would be on the issues of race, religion and
nationally of faculty members.
With my experience of a quarter century in this domain, I would say
most attention would be given to those factors in the first place
rather than merit.
They are mostly interested in visible minority applicants particularly
those from India and China (in the USA and Canada).
The next group is from Eastern Europe such as Poland and Russia and
Hungry.
These individuals under the clause of “minority groups” placed in the
academia and sometimes in position of power to enhance powers of those
few to control the institutions of higher learning.
I have no objection at all to hire faculty from these groups, but if
the primarily intention of administrators centered for interests of a
few over others then that will be a serious issue.
I see so many Chinese on the position of power ranging from chairs of
math departments to NSF Funding positions, etc.
When China entered WTO, it has put its illegal trade influence in many
countries around the world (without any attention to some of its
obligations), and created a crisis in American economy.
We need an over all review of hiring of above groups in academia and
place a serious restrictions on their ranks and positions.
In Basti Newsgroups we have no “quotas” in enrolment but also I hope I
will mange to put stop to control of a few over others in the
newsgroups (in a broad sense) under the pretext of freedom of
expression act.

When the notion of “Affirmative action” is heavily abused in academia,
intellectual vacuum and slavery happened and it has side affect as
crisis in academia.
Thus the society cannot have healthy perspective.
I think the abuse of rules of society should be studied.
The following is the faculty of math at University of Missouri,

Certainly the above imbalances happened because of hiring practice,
excluding many who are real scholars.
It seems to me the math establishment can easily shift their polices
associated to such departments, since there will be no resistance from
anyone.

Well, you are writing from France (with false name), defending
affirmative action here in America?
It has been a means of power struggle of a special group over others.
I make it short; their power did not pay off and resulted in events of
1940s, just because they went too far.
They are repeating the same mistake again; and it will not pay of now.
The result is the same, but with much larger suffering of societies.
The only solution is a severe restriction to the groups I have
mentioned.
This is the way it will be and it is unstoppable.
You think by some word you can put a stop in trend of the history?
Just look at how most of western hemispheres top politicians had
failed on their programs.
This is because they only think to put a special interest group in
power, and that is not the way it is going to be unfortunately for
them (with all of their power).
You see I do not allow my math research to be influenced and
controlled by them, this is one reason.
