Hello,

The context first:
A signature under a "notice to quit"
Position held: ....
(for and on behalf of XXX)

Can anyone verify if there>s any difference between "for" and "on behalf of"
as the "and" implies, or is it just "one of those" to be taken jointly? I
can see it mentioned as equivalent to the p.p. (per procurationem), which
suggests the latter option.

Regards,

marek

Another part of the context here would be the national domain of the
document.
American case law does not favor Latin phrases ore alienisms in
eviction documents
(such as a "Notice to Quit") designed
to be read by a layman.

"For and on behalf of" is intentionally
broad, embracing more than one possibility, including the signer
acting as attorney in fact
for a concerned individual, lawyer for an entity or agent or staff
representative of any legal
person involved in an action.
