Just double-checking, being absolutely sure: Can your regular tubular
flourescent lamp (T5, T8) be operated in any position, or does it have to be
horizontal? TIA |

If the lamp is an HO T5 lamp, 54 watt etc., put the etch end down.
The longer electrode makes for a mercury cold spot |
