In fact, what DVD players have RF output?
I checked a Sony DVP-S7000 (one of the first, if not the first, DVD
players). It has no RF output.
At the time DVD players were introduced, many TVs had direct inputs. I don>t
know what percentage of DVD players have or had modulators.

A lot of high end teevees had inputs but at that time a lot of cheap
motherfuckers didn>t. |

Thanks to everyone a lot for the suggestions.
In the meantime, I connected the motherboard with a known working
powersupply, and still nothing happened. I also checked the original
powersupply, as you guys suggested (connecting the green and black
wires) and the fan did start spinning. I also checked the voltage.
It showed 5.25 volts. I double checked the master switch, so it seems
that the problem is not with thepowersupply, but with the
motherboard.
Can you guys suggest anything I can test the motherboard with before I
return the motherboard?
Thanks a lot
-Zalek
Double check the configuration of the motherboard - any jumpers and
other connections and that the CPU is plugged in correctly (if this
applies).

Problem solved!!!! Thanks to all!!
The problem was that the "clear CMOS jumper" was in "Clear CMOS"
position - it should be in "normal" position.
The motherboard was A33G from PC Chips. Now my PC is working!
Other parts I used:
CPU cooler - WATER COOLER XIGMATEK|AIO-S80DP
2GB RAM - MEM 2G|PQI MAD42GUOE R
AMD CPU - CPU AMD|A64 X2 5000+ 2.6G AM2 2M R
case - CASE ATHENATECH|A3602BB.400 BK RT
DVD and HD I used from my old PC. HD had WinXP - I didn>t have to
reinstall any software.
One remark - water cooler is pretty big - and takes a lot of space but
fits on the MB. Standard 4 pin ATX power connector must be connected
to MB BEFORE installing the cooler - the cooler blocks the power
connector.
Thanks again,
Zalek |

If someone hijacked the eBay system and somehow forged the headers both
inside eBay and to the external email address, sure I guess that>s possible.
But they also had to cancel the auctions and suspend my ID.
So, what do you think happened?

Don>t let it bother you; it is just human nature. We judge things
by our own experiences. If, say, 90% of ebay customers have no
problems and 10% get screwed, those in the 90% naturally tend to
dismiss claims by the 10%. Your story is credible and matches the
stories told by others in similar situations. |

DIY stores sell it for cooker hoods. About 5mm thick.
Thanks, I will call around. I was rattling my brain trying to think what types
of industries use filter materials like what i am seeking and range or stove
hood vents was something i had forgotten about.
What i am looking for are sheets or rolls of this material. This company has
what i sort of need but they will not sell to non corporate customers. I need a
slightly larger size.

Hardware stores often have sheets of open foam filter material for air
conditioner filters. It>s a couple square feet, about 1/8" thick, and

I tried Home Depot and Lowes no luck. I will try around at some smaller stores
like ACE if i can find one locally. I cant believe its this hard to find the
stuff. |

larger sized sheet so i can cut to size.

You might try industrial supply on 3rd west and 17th south. Try some of the
sewing supply or arts and crafts stores for sheet foam rubber.
