Is anyone aware of a simple program that could
accept the input of
certain amounts of typical foods eaten per day and
then output the
total calories for each day.

I have tried numerous programs for computing the
nutrients of meals
generally but there were always problems with them.

It would be best for the program to read from a
data base, like the USDA>s.

TIA

Thank you P.R.

I had that on my list from 'the C R Way' book but
somehow it forgot about it. I am now trying to set
the Dietary Reference Intakes and I am having
trouble with setting it up for a CR diet. If you
have gone through this already, I>d appreciate
your help.

The following are my stats from the web site:
www.scientificpsychic.com
BMI 21.0 kg/m2, % body fat 19.7, Lean body mass
114 lb = 51.8 kg.
The average male has 17-19% according to the CR
Way but I am certainly not fat.
I suspect that variability in the weight and size
of the skeleton may have an effect here.

In cron-o-meter I set up my age, sex, weight,
height, and activity level and it came up with
some strange figures: e.g energy 2,521 - 3,151
kCal., protein 189 to 236 grms, Fat 84-105 grms. I
am thinking of a protein target of around 50 grms,
the other two I can only guess.

At the moment I am trying to calculate my present
diet values.

TIA

I don>t do CR but I read the email list cr@lists.calorierestriction.org

To join, go here:

http://lists.calorierestriction.org/mailman/listinfo/cr_lists.calorierestriction.org

They also have archives that have discussed CRON-0-METER and many on
that list use the software and can help much better than I at this
point. There>s also quite a bit of discussion on some of the other
software packages some of the members use.
