|
|
hi,
A question which was troubling a lot is can a car with no fuel
consumption is possible or what.
Three things led to me to think about it
1. On the bottom of a lorry I saw a long rod rotating, which was
rotating the backend wheels and engine it was.
2. A generator uses petrol which rotates a rod in between magnetic
field to produce electricity.
3. The thing what I require in a vehicle is motion.
I studied in my 12th standard that some energy is lost in a generator.
Can I use a generator to run my vehicle. But not with petrol but with
electricity only.
I will produce some electricity with the electric generator, loose
some, but I can save some thing. Motion is there , which I will use to
move the vehicle.
electric generatory:- electricity+ motion;
1. electricity back to generator
2. Motion to run the vehicle
I am not a mechanical engineer, ( a computer engineer) but this
question is puzzles me , I think such a system can be built, but if it
can be built why has it not been built, what were the limitations.
If limitations are there with so much advancement in mechanical
engineering why cannot we overcome those.
I would be happy if any body can throw some light on these facts.
I am open for critics.

dear ramesh
your idea violates one of the basic laws of nature which is the 'First
Law Of Thermodynamics'. you are trying to produce work without
supplying energy in any form whatsoever.
in this case consider the system(a fixed region in space for
thermodynamic consideration/calculations) as your vehicle.
energy is being spent by the system for the vehicle to move.
so if alawys energy is only being taken away from the system without
any input from an external source wouldnt the vehicle come to a halt
when the total energy becomes zero.
whatever you do (your idea of generating electricity, then using part
of it for motion and the remaining to run the generator itself) will
not work as long as the system doesnt recieve 'external energy'(in
case of a vehicle its the fuel).
if you have read this passage carefully you would have noticed the
number of times i have used the word 'external' before the word
'energy'. it holds the key to all your doubts.
the hypothetical machine you thought of is what we mechanical
engineers call 'The Perpetual Motion Machine' which produces work
without any energy input.

Yes. One of the special rules that must be followed so it works is you
cannot simply step into it>s open doors. You have to levitate yourself into
the open doors.
